Charlene Richard

She is often referred to as "The Little Cajun Saint." Charlene died at age 12, of Acute Lymphatic Leukemia, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, LA. She accepted the advice of Father Brennen, who was the hospital chaplain, to offer up her own pain and suffering in prayer to God for the intercessory benefit of others. Since her death, her grave has become a locus of petitions, rosaries, medals, and other prayer offerings, and many have reported miraculous healing in their lives subsequent to a visit. She is buried at St. Edwards Catholic Church Cemetery in Richard, LA.
